Before each session, there is always much thought that goes into what will be worn. To help a little with this decision, I thought it would be helpful to do a “What to Wear” feature on the blog a couple of times a month.
In today’s feature, I’m going to be talking about maternity sessions. I suggest wearing something comfortable, anything too form fitting could show undergarment imperfections. I generally suggest doing the photos anywhere from 28-35 weeks. Beyond 35 weeks is absolutely do-able but our bodies can have a difficult time getting into certain poses and we are quite uncomfortable during that final stretch of pregnancy.
The examples of outfits I’m showing are all solid prints. Just because this is what I suggest does not mean patterns shouldn’t be worn. I love a good pattern as much as the next person. However, we want to showcase that fabulous baby bump you’re sporting and sometimes certain patterns can be quiet distracting.
I absolutely adore long dresses!! I find them to be so light and add a very feminine touch to the photos. If you are interested in wearing more than one outfit during our time together, I am definitely good with that!!
When selecting shoes, try to go for comfort. Pregnancy tends to throw off our balance quite a bit, so unless you are used to high heels, or at least practice before our photo session (lol) I would suggest a sandal. If you really want to add the height & are willing to brave a heel, I think wedges are probably the safest way to go.
Layering is always a flattering clothing choice also. A great denim jacket or sweater shrug are choices you can never go wrong with.
I hope this helps you a little!! Please, if you have any other questions or concerns regarding your session… don’t hesitate to ask
